Computational Population Genetics
I am an undergraduate student in the Genomic Sciences program at UNAM, with a strong interest in population genetics and the use of computational and statistical approaches. I am currently a member of Dr. Diego Ortega’s research group, where I am developing my undergraduate thesis. My work focuses on the use of forward-time simulations in SLiM to model populations in continuous spatial environments, both homogeneous and heterogeneous, in order to investigate how natural selection shapes patterns of genetic and phenotypic variation.
