Daniela Rayón Alvarez
Regulatory Genomics and Bioinformatics
7th year Medical student, currently completing my social service at the Laboratorio Internacional de Investigación sobre el Genoma Humano (LIIGH), Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), as part of the Parkinson’s disease research program. My work focuses on the clinical and molecular characterization of patients with neurodegenerative disorders.
I contribute to patient profiling and phenotypic data collection, conduct structured clinical interviews, and participate in biological sample processing, including DNA extraction for downstream genetic and molecular analyses. Through this work, I am particularly interested in the integration of clinical and genomic data to better understand the pathophysiology of Parkinson’s disease.
My long-term goal is to contribute to translational research that bridges molecular findings with clinical application, ultimately improving diagnostic precision and therapeutic strategies for neurodegenerative diseases.
