B. Sc. Florencia Alvarez Gallego
Population and Evolutionary Genomics
I obtained my BSc degree in Biological Sciences from the Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia San Juan Bosco (UNPSJB) in 2022.
I am currently focused on research for my PhD, which examines pathogen diversity in human societies in Central Patagonia during pre-contact and post-contact periods. My research integrates paleogenomics and bioinformatics approaches to improve our understanding of the evolutionary history and epidemiological dynamics of infectious diseases in the ancestors of Mapuche-Tehuelche communities.
