Cancer Genomics and Bioinformatics

Kenya Lizbeth Contreras Ramírez is a PhD student at the International Laboratory for Human Genome Research (LIIGH-UNAM). She earned a BSc in Biochemical Engineering from the National Polytechnic Institute and an MSc in Neurobiology from the Institute of Neurobiology at UNAM, where she worked on bioinformatics projects focused on genomic and transcriptomic analyses. After her MSc, she gained experience in the medical and bioinformatics industries, working on data analysis. Her current PhD research investigates whole genomes of acral melanoma in Mexican patients, studying genetic variants and other genomic features to better characterize this disease in the Mexican population.
