M.S. Margarita Flores

MARGARITA-FLORESMargarita Flores was born in Guanajuato, Mexico and received her undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Guanajuato in 1975 and her M.S. degree in cell biology from the Center of Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnical Institute of México in 1979. In 1981 she was incorporated in the Nitrogen Fixation Research Center, currently The Center for Genomic Sciences of The National Autonomous University of México; and in 2014 she was incorporated in the International Laboratory For Human Genome Research. Together with Dr. Rafael Palacios she has developed a research line centered in the dynamics of the bacterial and more recently the human genome. In 2008 she received from The National University of México the distinction “Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz”.
