PhD student Alan Vladimir Godínez Plascencia
Paleogenomics and Evolutionary Biology
Alan is a late-stage PhD student working at the International Laboratory for Human Genome Research (LIIGH-UNAM), under the supervision of Dr. Federico Sánchez Quinto.
As a member of the Paleogenomics and Evolutionary Biology Laboratory, his research focuses on the evolutionary history of immune-related genes, particularly the HLA system. He is interested in investigating what ancient DNA can reveal about demographic events, long-term selection, and present-day human health. With a strong interest in leveraging reproducible bioinformatics workflows to tackle paleogenomic questions.
