Margarita Flores was born in Guanajuato, Mexico and received her undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Guanajuato in 1975 and her M.S. degree in cell biology from the Center of Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnical Institute of México in 1979. Margareta Boege received her Ph.D. in Mathematics from UNAM. Her main area of interest was Topology. Currently she is a Mathematics teacher. She has taught several courses to a great variety of students at programs such as Mathematics, Engineering and the Genomic Sciences Undergraduate Program.
